There are more and more Korean brands venture into Malaysia market within these few years. Joining into the group is no other than Banila Co, another makeup and skincare brand. While it has landed and opened a few outlets already, the brand finally had it launching event in conjunction with the opening of their new outlet at Pavilion KL.
The launching event was on last Wednesday, 23rd November 2016. I can’t remember the exact time, but it got dragged to start around 3pm. It was located at Level 5, near the linked bridge as their outlet wasn’t in a shop, but a bigger kiosk at the walkway. The area covered for the launching event was enough to accommodate for the crowd of the day.
I could notice some local celebrities and bloggers attended the event. I bet there are more but maybe they left earlier or I missed most of them. ANYWAY, my focus wasn’t on the local celebs. All I want to see are Banilo Co muse, Han Eu Ddeum and makup artist from Banila Co Korea.
The event kicked off with a dance performance from students from The Redmouse Academy. Due to my height,I can't really see all the performers, only manage to catch glimpse of few of them. I personally think that song chose can be much more brighter and livelier to match with Banila Co's theme of pink and white. *their outfits were white though.
Beside Han Eu Ddeum, there are actually two makeup artists came all the way from Korea for this launching event. They are no other than Kim Kang Pil, the head makeup artist at Banila Co and Ko Sang Hyun, better known as Mr.Go, he is also in charge of education department. Why education department? Actually there are three makeup artists in Banila Co, who are in charge of teaching their staffs on the latest trend and makeup skills. And hence, it goes the education department.
Back to the launching event, Mr Kim demonstrated the daily makeup look on the spot. As I was at quite some distance from the demo, one thing caught my attention was the demo on the Primer Finish Powder. The picture of how the eyeliner wouldn't smudge after applying the powder, even if you try to rub it off. It is a must-have things for eye makeup especially for us in Malaysia.
The second makeup demonstration was actually done by the pretty Han Eu Ddeum. She share her tips on face contouring and her favourite items from Banila Co. I have watch her Pink Studio series on Banila Co's Youtube channel. I admire her liveliness in conducting the show. And no doubt, she is very pretty in person. I have a little regret that I did not step up and ask for a picture with her. (I'm like TT)
Nevertheless, I still manage to talk to Mr. Kim and Mr. Go and have picture with them. Got to know that they were here not only to attend the launching party, but also goes around to pass down some makeup skills to the local team. I think it will be hard but I hope Banila Co will have some events again and bring Korean team to here for makeup show.
Banila Co Malaysia currently have their outlets at Pavilion, Sunway Pyramid and Mid Valley.
I have gotten some products from Banila Co during my recent trip to Korea. Will try to share my thoughts here once I try on them. Till then, see ya!
